Geelong 1st Sunday Ride  6 May 2018

Beautiful autumnal weather greeted 16 riders for this months ride. Simon Turner flying the flag for the Ballarat crew and Graeme Wilson from Melbourne. After the meet and greet and formalities were out of the way we headed off for our pre-determined destination of Bacchus Marsh via Anakie. After heading up the ring road for a bit it was off at the Ballarat exit onto Ballan Rd. No Doug Aldham at Anakie but we were joined by Mark Mensch and Simon Turner.

A steady jaunt through Staungton Vale and Parwon had us at Bacchus Marsh. We parked up behind Flannagans hotel and found a bakery nearby. After pies, coffee and cakes plus motorcycle chatter 45 minutes flew by. We re- mounted and headed west on the freeway taking the Ballan exit onto Anakie Rd and headed for home. After being caught behind a slow car with no way of overtaking the group vanished into the distance. When safely around the car it was not long before I caught up !!! After a brief stop at Anakie to say farewell riders dispersed home for an early day. 250 Ks for me Thanks to Steve for lead rider and Ron Study for T.E.C. duties. A great day with great people.
