Geelong 1st Sunday Ride report, 6th Jan

Fine, mild weather greeted 9 riders and 2 guests for this month’s ride. Dave Gudgeon making the trip from his home near Newstead on his trusty Triumph. After a short discussion it was agreed that Trentham would be our destination. With the formalities out of the way Steve led us out through Ceres onto Merrawarp Rd, into Batesford then the Geelong Ballan Rd to Anakie, through some nice motorcycle country to Ballan. Over the Western Hwy into more twists to Greendale, Blackwood and Trentham. Although the speed limit is only 80 Kph the smell of the forest and the sight of other like-minded people enjoying the roads made for a very enjoyable time, especially if you were behind Bill’s “crisp” Ducati 900 SS. At the bakery we enjoyed coffee, pies, cakes and motorcycle banter. After an hour we bid farewell to Dave and came back the same way. The return trip had the throttles opened a bit wider. A great day was had by all. Thanks to Bill and Murray for joining our ride from Melbourne. Special thanks to Graeme Wilson for T. E. C. duties.
