Geelong Run Report
1st  Sunday of the Month 2/7/2023

Ride of the stalwarts this Sunday as there seemed only three of us prepared to brave the cold winter weather?  The missing missed out on quite a nice ride that Ron Study led through Mt Duneed and then down to the coast at 13th Beach, Barwon Heads and then down Shell Road Ocean Grove and on to Point Lonsdale.

After a short cut through the new housing estates at Point Lonsdale it was down Queenscliff Rd to Murradoc Rd then down Bluff Rd to St Leonards and then the Esplanade along to Port Arlington. There are always nice views across the Bay towards Melbourne skyscrapers in the distance from the Esplanade.

We enjoyed pies and coffee at the very busy Port Arlington Bakery where to our surprise long time member and past Geelong Rep Andy Symons turned up and spotted us for a long chat.

Andy would love to get riding again but he has been prevented for a while due to skin cancer operations on his forehead – which make wearing a helmet a real “pain in the scone”.  He hopes to be back soon and we look forward to it.

A good Sunday ride where in addition to good fellowship and Andy’s happy face, we spotted a nice Norton Commando 750. (See pics)
