Geelong Run Report, 3rd Sunday of the Month, 19 Feb

John and Cath Palmer had kindly offered to host us for tea and scones at his place in St Leonards and the weather was beautiful so it was eager fellas who set off for a spin down the Bellarine Peninsula.

I led the ride heading out through Mt Duneed, and Barwon Heads. The run down 13th Beach with the sea sparkling was great. When we arrived in Queenscliff, John took over leadership to guide us down Queenscliff/St Leonards Rd to his house in St Leonards. Ron Study brought up the rear and corner marshaling was seamless as everybody wanted to get to those scones quickly!

A new bike of note turned up in the shape of Mal Loone’s pretty rare 1966   CZ (Česká zbrojovka )/ Jawa Land Patrol 175 cc 2 stroke.  Imported into Australia in limited numbers in the 1960’s for farmers. Mal has just picked it up from WA and it is in virtually prime condition. (See photos).

Another highlight of the day was Andy Symons turning up on his magnificent  1950’s  500cc Panther Combination in original condition! Great to see Andy again! (See photo)

Great scones and sausage rolls and fellowship topped off the day at John & Cath Palmer’s place.
