Geelong Run Report,16th Jan, 2022

Glorious weather and the fact that it was the first run of 2022 saw 10 eager riders turn up at Macca’s right on time. It was especially nice also to see two of the girls participate as pillion riders.
It was decided to head the back roads through Morrisons and Mt Edgerton and end up at Gordon near Ballarat for coffee and fellowship. Nick Oakley agreed to lead as he knew some of the roads and ever faithful T.E.C Graeme Wilson brought up the rear. Excellent corner marshalling was evident as we wound through Ceres, Bannockburn, Sutherlands Creek and Maude to take the She-Oak turnoff to the left towards Meredith.
After a brief stop at Meredith, Nick led us on through Morrisons and Bungal. The huge number of massive new wind turbines near Mt Edgerton viewed as one winds down the ridges is an impressive sight indeed!
The usual watering hole at Gordon was closed (Covid?} but the General Store had good coffee and benches out front where we could sit to enjoy nearly and hour and a half great chatter. Nobody wanted to go home?
Lets hope this great ride is a portent of a better 2022?!
