Midweek Ride Report
Wednesday 7th March 2018
We tried something a little different this month, the idea was to have a little more time for a chin wag so we started at 8.30am for breakfast at Café Moto in Carrum. This is a motor cycle themed café right on the highway. A handful of members decided to join Anna & myself for breakfast, as the time ticked on more & more people turned up. As scheduled at 9.30ish we all went around the back to the Oilee Racing workshop, if you recall Leigh came & did a talk one night for the club. What I thought was going to be a short tour of his workshop t
urned into a 45 minute session talking about all things motorcycle.
We finally headed off via Nepean Hwy making our way to Arthurs Seat, unfortunately there was a road closure along the route which meant I needed to navigate an alternate route. After several right hand turns I got sick of riding in circles and we finally found a suitable road which led us away from the closure and towards Arthurs Seat. By the time we reached Arthurs Seat is was around 11.30 so we didn’t hang around long at all and made our way via some lovely roads to Flinders for lunch.
The group split up for lunch, there are so many options in Flinders so it is great. After lunch be saddled up for a lap of the local golf course the back to Hastings where everyone would split up. As is customary these days, I like to
have a little nap after lunch so I layed the bike down just before entering the golf course. It was a quick nap, only about 5 seconds or so but I did manage to break the RHS mirror & scare my fairing.
