Twelve riders met at the start under slightly overcast skies in Narre Warren and we were soon on our way down the Princes Highway through Pakenham and Tynong. For Ed to have us gunning down the Princes Highway for over 40 klms I knew the end result would be worth it and of course it was.
We turned north onto the Jindivick road and then rode all around the Neerim areas having morning tea in Neerim South. Then it was down through Rokeby and heading East before crossing the Princes Hwy at Yarragon and riding up around the very picturesque areas of Cloverlea, Ellinbank, Tetoora, and Lardner.
The hills around these areas to the south are covered with masses of pine forests with the rest of the countryside as green as it will ever be and all the roads an absolute delight to ride on.
We got to Drouin and enjoyed our lunch outside on the bakery patio under sun umbrellas………..it’s a hard life!
Our final leg back to near our start point was via Longwarry, Bunyip, Garfield and Nar Nar Goon before we dispersed just south of Berwick. Another excellent midweek run under a cool overcast morning clearing to a lovely sunny afternoon. Not Mcain but Ed……..you’ve done it again! Thank you.
Run from start to dispersal was approx 246klms and my total for the day 356.8klms.
