Sunday Run to Dalyston, 25th Nov 2018

At our starting point at Officer, 11 riders and 1 pillion passenger greeted Graham Boulter our Lead Rider for the day, with two new faces. Murray Courtis with a very nice 1973 CB750 and guest Russell McGhie with an equally as nice 1981 R100, both being welcomed for the ride.

Today’s ride included a BBQ supplied by the club, so who better to carry the supplies but our president Ian with his Suzuki outfit.  After our briefing from Graham we headed off under cloudy but rainless skies with a nice brisk nip in the air to accompany us.

With Dalyston to be our lunch stop, we travelled Nar Nar Goon, Longwarry, Drouin South, then onto the Main South Road to Loch for morning tea.  South Gippsland offers so much to the motor cyclist and it never fails to deliver with its undulating beautiful scenery and superb roads.  Morning tea over, we headed south passing through such towns as Bena, Kongwak, before arriving at Daylston for lunch.  Local identity and club member Alan Prentice had organized the use of the Daylston Football Club BBQ and everything was ready to go when we arrived.  Ian took control of the BBQ with James Linton on onion duty and Marion McLennan on bread and butter duty.  New Bunnings sausage rules did not apply here so any which way you wanted the onions to accompany your sausage was the order of the day.  The BBQ was accompanied as usual with light-hearted discussion on various topics displaying that our minds are all in touch with one and another.

Lunch over we headed towards Tooradin, taking in the Glen Forbes Gorge along the way.  This stretch of road highlights what I mentioned earlier about what South Gippsland has to offer, just beautiful in every way.

Arriving in Glen Forbes for a regroup and Ian was to leave us at this point for duties elsewhere.  Yours truly, assumed TEC duties to Tooradin where we all arrived safely after experiencing very high winds.

Any ride is a good ride with today being no exception with South Gippsland having its best on display.
