Vale – Bob Satterly
It is with regret that we inform the Classic Club Members of the passing of
Bob Satterly, he passed away the morning of Sunday 20th May 2018 at the
age of 89.
Bob worked in the chemical, electroplating and paint industry for most of
his life, this included Ford, Chrysler and VW. He also worked with
refrigeration and engineering companies.
Early 1970’s he was offered a sales job in South East Asia so Bob moved to
Singapore for 28 years. Bob travelled to China approximately 100 times for work related duties.
Bob had varied collection of motor bikes, they included Morini, Norton, Ducati and Vincent’s. All these bikes were solo. In Bob’s latter years he progressed to fitting sidecars to his Vincent machinery.
During this time Bob will always be remembered as a Vincent Man, having not been without one since 1948. Bob attended many rally’s both here in Australia and Overseas, his favourite being the Girder Fork Rally in Coma, N.S.W.
Bob always made himself available with his knowledge and prowess for those
acquiring a hand with their projects. Bob would always interest us with so many stories from his working life and his exploits on motorcycling and his worldly travels.
Bob is survived by wife Penn, daughters Evelyn and Pojinee.
Bob will be sadly missed by all.
